2013 Detroit Winter Classic at Clark Park, the Frozen Fish Fiasco
Just when it looked like metro Detroit would not have any outdoor games or inner city youth hockey tournaments (due to the NHL lock-out & the demise of Hockey in the Hood) the Frozen Fish Fiasco held a 'city meets the suburbs' Winter Classic showcase to support the Clark Park Coalition.
It was a perfect day for hockey outside in the shadow of the Ambassador Bridge in Southwest Detroit. House and travel youth teams from Detroit and surrounding communities had a great time playing old school hockey outside in Mexican town.
Travel 01 Livonia Lancers faced off with the Pee Wee A Honeybaked Dragons from Hazel Park.
The Mite B Dearborn Hockey battled for the blue puck with the Mite B Livonia Predators.
All proceeds from this event are allocated to help keep amateur youth hockey alive in the City of Detroit. Feel free to contact Clark Park to learn more about their plans for the future of Southwest Detroit Hockey.
